Dear Parents,
This morning we left Poriah and headed to the holy city of Tzfat. We went on a walking tour and explored. We visited the old synagogue of Rabbi Yosef Karo and learned about some of the history of that site. Then we walked through the Artist Quarter – what a rich collection of beautiful art, jewelry, and restaurants! We got to spend some time with an artist who paints spiritual Kabbalistic concepts and learn about our Jewish names. Then we tried our hand at scribing at the Otsar Stam institute, and learned about how scribes write Torahs, Tefillin, and Mezuzot. We even got training from a real scribe! We are now staying at a moshav called Nofei Gonen in the North. After a swim in the outdoor pool, we had dinner and night program. What a fun day! More fun tomorrow!
