Dear Parents,
Today we learned about what it takes to will your dreams into reality. At the Hall of Independence in Tel Aviv, we traveled back in time and learned how Tel Aviv was built and how the early inhabitants struggled to live in the city. We discussed the circumstances that lead to Israel establishing itself as a State. After concluding the education with Hatikva, we went to Rabin Square and learned a bit about who Yitzhak Rabin was and what he stood for (peace). Then, we toured the Shuk haPishpashim (flea market) and we were amazed at how much unique junk was being sold! We still managed to find some good deals though!
We then travelled to the 2000 year old Bar kochba caves, where Jews hid during their 3rd war with the Roman occupation. We crawled through the tunnels for a unique time travelling experience and really connected back to their experience. As it was quite cramped in there, many of us felt very proud that we conquered our fears and explored! Later in the evening, after dinner at our hotel, we had the pleasure of hearing from Rabbi Micah Greenland and his inspiring message of doing Jewish in a way that we connect to. It’s hard to believe that the are at approaching the end of the trip… We are looking forward to our final Shabbat in Jerusalem!
Best,
Yoni
