Wow was it ever hot today! Because of the heat, we were advised to take the cable cars to ascend Masada instead of traversing on foot. On top, we learned about King Herod and explored the vast archeological story that is told by the ancient mosaics, synagogue, palace, and water reservoir on Masada. When we descended, we had lunch and traveled to the Dead Sea. It was quite an experience, especially those of us whose were entering for their first time in the salty water. We floated and played Frisbee on the beach until it was time to go. On our way back to the Kibbutz, we stopped off at the Big shopping mall for some snacks and other necessities ( more snacks). After dinner, we had a night program, where the goal was to discuss the internal and external nature of jewish identity. We wrapped up the night with a lip sync battle, it was lots of fun to watch our Bus 2 members perform. Some of us got very creative, please check out our pics online!
In a few hours we will depart for our free weekend! On Sunday we travel south for more touring!
