Dear Parents,
This morning we started out at the pedestrian market on Ben Yehuda street in Jerusalem. It was a lot of fun trying our wits at bargaining! We all got some good deals and bought nice gifts for our friends and family back home. Next, we had a scavenger hunt in the Biblical Zoo in Jerusalem. We had a great time running around and trying to complete the challenges in the allotted time. A favorite was encouraging other patrons of the Zoo to cheer “TJJ Bus 2 2015 ROCKS!” on video. We hadn’t quite yet had our fill of animals, so we travelled to Bet Shemesh and toured the Biblical Museum of Natural History. We learned about all sorts of animals and even got to hold a giant snake! After that, we stopped off in a nearby grocery store to grab some pre-dinner snacks. At out night program, watched a movie about Michael Levin, an American who made aliyah to Israel and joined the IDF to protect our homeland. After the movie, we had had a Q and A with our tour guide David who also served in the IDF. It was moving, and later in the trip, we hope to visit Mt. Herzl to pay our respects.
Wishing you a great evening!
-Yoni
