Uplifted In Tzfat with Philip Lerner!

Today was an action packed, and extremely spiritual day in the beautiful city of Tzfat. We started by climbing to the highest point of the city, and learned about the city’s significance and how it relates to the element of air. Following this, we walked into an underground tunnel. This could’ve easily been boring but we all started singing songs including Tov Lohodot, Kol HaOlam Kulo, and Shema. We really connected and had a great time.

A little later on bus 2 hit the streets of Tzfat. We heard a lot of interesting stories, one particularly about how Kaballat Shabbat and the song Lecha Dodi started. We then traveled to the Ari Shul (the father of Kabbalah) and heard a cool story about how bending during a prayer actually saved a person’s life. After that we toured the candle factory and took as many pictures as possible because they all looked so unique.

The afternoon continued with a chicken schnitzel sandwich lunch and a tour of an art gallery, where every work related to deep Jewish meaning. Right after, we had an hour to shop, eat, and hangout with our friends in the old city. The night activity was split into 2 parts. First we had a discussion about belief in G-d and different types of sources of opinions. The second half was a lip sync battle of the ages. There were lots of amazing acts, judges, and huge laughs. This was absolutely the best way to end off a crazy day. We are all looking forward to what the bus 2 journey has in store for us next!
