Day 15! By: Ezra Goldberg

Today we started with optional shacharit, breakfast, and tefilla workshops as usual. We then hopped on the bus and headed to Holon for the Blind Museum. The Blind Museum was basically us going through various rooms in complete darkness in groups of 9 people and a staff member. We were lead by visually impaired guides, and the whole experience was really eye-opening, just not in the literal sense.

We then went to this waste treatment facility where they purify 85% of sewage into potable or drinkable water and turn all the leftover sludge into fertilizer. It smelled really gross, and it was then that I reminded everyone of yesterday’s Hebrew word of the day, “Sheelshool” which of course translates to “diarrhea”.

Next was this university where we listened to a lecture on the Arab-Israeli conflict. The speaker was very Anti-Israel and shut down all of our arguments with facts. After much back and forth debate, she revealed that she was actually pro Israel and was acting like a North American Arab Israeli conflict professor. She taught us how to defend our beliefs and taught us that most of the ‘facts’ she used were altered to make them seem more convincing. We then headed back to the youth hostile and listened to this Israeli expert on the Arab Israeli conflict.
Hebrew word of the day was stinky but I forget how to say it in Hebrew.
All in all, today was really great, and yeah.
