After a fun but tiring week, Shabbat came as a much-appreciated period of relaxation. It started with dinner at a Yeshiva next to the Western Wall, followed by a walk through Jerusalem, where we were able to observe the beauty of the old city at night. Fortunately, the sleep that we missed due to our late arrival at the hotel (approximately 1 a.m.) was easily made up for by our late wakeup the following morning. Saturday’s schedule was mainly comprised of free time to spend with friends and on sleep. We did, however, participate in a variety of interesting panels on different subject materials. As the following day, Sunday, was Tisha B’av, those of us that were fasting spent a sizable portion of Shabbat drinking unlikely amounts of water in preparation for said fast. Altogether, Shabbat on NCSY has once again been a fun and interesting experience.
