Day 13! By: Daniel Torch

After a 7:00 wake up, the whole group was excited to visit Jerusalem. We started off our day by morning prayers at 7:15, followed by breakfast at 7:45. At 8:15, as we were too antsy to keep seated and departed to The Old City. First, we stopped to experience a wondrous view, which is unique to Jerusalem. Next, we went to see a short 3-D film abut the history of The City of David, which was absolutely astonishing. After that, we took part in a once in a lifetime water walk in the water tunnels underneath the Old City of David. It was particularly difficult for the taller people, as the tunnels were only about 6 feet tall. After a hectic morning we finally had some time to sit down and enjoy some precious food. We had two options for lunch, which consisted of dairy or meat. Once everybody was done with their delicious meal, we had around one hour to visit different shops in the shuk to buy gifts and/or more food. After a tiring half of the day, we went to visit the monumental landmark of Jerusalem, the Western Wall. The wall completely blew me and all of my peers away. Everyone started to feel emotional, it was mind blowing to see the one remaining wall of the Second Temple. We had an opportunity to put on Tefillin and stand in front of a massive structure. In addition, we had personal notes which we could stick in the cracks of the wall. We then continued with our afternoon mincha session in front of the immensely holy and spiritual site. Once we concluded our time at the Wall, we went out for another filling meal – we had a big outdoor BBQ dinner in Jerusalem. Lastly, we left dinner at around 8:30 and concluded an absolutely amazing day. Overall, Day 13 was unbelievable and we can’t wait to see what Day 14 brings to the table!
