Waking up early to do chessed and ending the day by seeing over a thousand ncsyers all at one place? Only in ncsy. Our day was packed, but that’s basically what we live for on TJJ. In the morning we went to hear an amazing speaker,Neil Lazarus, who spoke to us about Israel advocacy, politics in the Middle East, living in Israel and about being Jewish. We then watched a video about Michael levin, the soldier who risked his life just for our land and did everything he could, but got killed during it at a young age. It was sad but inspiring and left a strong message with us. After tearing up or crying on each others shoulders, literally for some of us, we fed 180 families for a whole month by just working for an hour. (One of our many abilities as a bus…)we went to pantry packers, a food packaging place for the needy, and we packed rice, bagged and boxed it, and ended up packaging a month full of rice for 180 families. Something that really got to me was going to mount Herzl, seeing different graves of soldiers and prime ministers, for example, from Israel. Something we then had a bit of background knowledge from was Michael levin and we also got to visit him. To start and end off, the best night eva, we went to, YOM NCSY 2013! Teens from every ncsy summer program got together at mini Israel, to eat, mingle, and bond at an amazing concert. We are now all looking forward to take advantage and have the best two last days of the summer together and make the best memories eva!
